    Country Standard Time Feature

    When BR549 took a hiatus three years ago, frontman Chuck Mead found inspiration in another form of collaboration, as a staff songwriter for Ten Ten Music Group, a Nashville publishing house. All the songs on his first solo effort, the self-released “Journeyman’s Wager,” except for a George Harrison-penned Beatles cover, come from that fruitful stint.  To read on click here

    2 East Coast dates added – NYC, DC

    Chuck will be playing one of his favorite big city honky-tonks, the Rodeo Bar in NYC on July 2, and then heading to celebrate Independence Day, where else, but IOTA Club & Cafe just a stones throw from the Mall in DC. Check out the Tour Dates page for details.

    Kansas City date added – June 24

    A date in Kansas City has been added to the June tour dates. Chuck will be playing with Outlaw Jim and the Whiskey Benders at Knuckleheads -2715 Rochester – 8pm.

    Nashville Extravaganza! – WSM Interview – In Store @ Grimey’s – PLUS 2 Big Shows

    Chuck will be back in Nashville for a blitz of album release parties and more on May 29th and 30th.

    WSM – With Bill Cody

    Friday morning Chuck will stop in at the Air Castle of the South for a chat and to play a few songs with WSM’s Bill Cody. Listen live  on May 29th at 7:30am Central.

    In Store Performance and Album Release Party

    Grimey’s New and Preloved Music celebrates the release of Journeyman’s Wager at 3pm on Saturday, May 30th.  Stop in, say hi and pick up a copy of the new record! 1604 8th Ave. S.

    EAST vs. WEST – 2 BIG SHOWS!

    Kicking things off on the East side, Friday, May 29th, the show will be at the 5 Spot, 1006 Forrest Avenue.  It’s a NON-SMOKING Show and gets underway at 9pm.

    Chuck takes the show across the bridge Saturday night, May 30th for another big show at The Basement, 1604 8th Ave. S.  Joshua Black Wilkins opens. 9pm.

    Washington Post Review

    “No Requests,” the funky final track on this solo debut, offers the most emphatic evidence as to where Chuck Mead’s head has been at since his main band, BR549, went on hiatus. Where that walking jukebox got its start playing just about any sawdust-and-steel classic its fans clamored for, this busman’s holiday is all about originality, something to which the 11 hungry tracks here amply attest.
